Zum Tod von Hermann Nitsch

Der große Aktionskünstler Hermann Nitsch ist am Montagabend nach Krankheit im Alter von 83 Jahren verstorben. Zeitgleich eröffnete in Venedig eine einzigartige Ausstellung, eine wichtige Würdigung für einen der ganz großen Künstler Österreichs.


Hermann Nitsch realisierte über 90 Malaktionen, zuletzt im Sommer 2021 für die konzertante Aufführung von Richard Wagners „Walküre“, im Rahmen der Bayreuther Festspiele, die er damit szenisch begleitete. Die 20. Malaktion von Hermann Nitsch entstand 1987 in der Wiener Secession und die noch als gesamtes Konvolut zusammengehalten werden konnten. Sie ist heute in Besitz der Privatsammlung Helmut Essl. Gemeinsam mit Galerie Lisa Kandlhofer, Pace Gallery und den Zuecca Projects wird sie nun im Rahmen der 59. Biennale in den Räumen der Oficinie 800 auf der Guidecca in Venedig ausgestellt, eine glanzvolle und dramatische Schau. Leider konnte Hermann Nitsch selbst bei der Eröffnung am Montagabend nicht mehr teilnehmen. Auch die pandemiebedingte Verschiebung des 6-Tage-Spiels kommt nun zu spät. In den Vorbereitungen dazu trafen wir Hermann Nitsch in seinem Schloss Prinzendorf, die Lektüre dieses persönlichen Interviews möchten wir Ihnen empfehlen. Es war immer eine interessante, lehrreiche und unterhaltsame Erfahrung Hermann Nitsch erzählen zu hören. So planten wir bereits länger den kommenden PARNASS ausführlich dem Werk und dem Künstler Hermann Nitsch zu widmen. Bis dahin empfehlen wir unbedingt einen Besuch in Venedig, wo Nitsch beweist wie monumental sein Werk auch international wirkt. Den Angehörigen des Künstlers möchten wir unser Beileid ausdrücken, mit Hermann Nitsch ist ein ganz großer Künstler gegangen.
