Terra Australis - a survey of contemporary art

The legend of Terra Australis dates back to Roman times being the unknown land of the South. Now for the first time to Austria comes a group show of diverse Australian artists all of whom are friends. Danie is an artist with Indigenous heritage whose work explores the often challenging intersections of Aboriginal and Western cultures. Janet is focused on the environment and the impact of the world today on this. Linde uses found objects to create extraordinary sculptural works Tamara a former photo journalist is now using her skills to create extraordinary photographic images. These four artists are a great representation of contemporary art practise in Australia and I am delighted Hilger has taken this initiative to enable each of these artists to show for the first time in Vienna
